HIKE NEWS
Some of our hikes have recently been added to: events.twincities.com for the pioneer press. So-o-o-o Hike leaders - when coming up with an idea for hikes, if you can get an address for a park or restaurant to meet at, it will be easier to get more of the hikes listed at the site. Their website needs a venue such as a restaurant, park or building, something with an address, to enable us to list the hikes. Parks DO have addresses!

HIKE SCHEDULERS!!!
I need the hike schedule by the 10th of the month before publication. So start early and work hard, like I know you can, to get them to me. There should be no need for any extended deadlines. The Mailing Director needs time to get it out, too!

WALKING TIP
If you are in another part of the USA, and want to find other clubs to hike with, try the American Volkssport Association. Featured in an article in the March/April issue of AARP magazine, this branch of the international association maintains a list of more than 300 local walking and fitness clubs, covering most states. The walks are ranked from 1 (easy) to 5 (for those in top shape) and take up to two hours. (Call 210-659-2112 or their website is: ava.org) The same article also listed several other clubs, even for overseas

NEW FEATURE
The Editor would like to start a new feature to salute current members on their birthdays each month. So, I will start with mine, which is April 15th. Lots of GREAT things happened on my BD like the Titanic sinking and President Lincoln’s death, oh and---Income Tax deadline day! For the salute to happen I need birthday dates, I don’t need the year, unless you want to give it to me, just the month and the date so I can put it in the Trailblazer and we can wish each other Happy Birthday! Who has birthdays in May, June, etc? I need info if I am going to make this work!
