HIKE NEWS

Some of our hikes have recently been added to: events.twincities.com for the pioneer press. So-o-o-o Hike leaders - when coming up with an idea for hikes, if you can get an address for a park or restaurant to meet at, it will be easier to get more of the hikes listed at the site. Their website needs a venue such as a restaurant, park or building, something with an address, to enable us to list the hikes. Parks DO have addresses!

CLEARWATER FOREST TRIP September 5-7, 2008

Another group received priority for the original dates in August, so the September dates seemed the best alternative. The weekend is inexpensive ($45.00 approx.) plus carpooling, and the hikers provide the meals, etc. Many of you have already been contacted and have indicated your approval, a minimum of 20 bodies are needed for success (guests are welcome). Please contact George Hunkins for further details 651-224-8933. Clearwater Forest is on scenic Clearwater Lake near Garrison on Mille Lacs. For over 12 years the Hiking Club has enjoyed this wonderful camp!

WALKING TIP

Walk FACING traffic when there are no sidewalks and you must use the street, (your left side of the street) so you can watch for cars!
