HIKE LEADERS!
1) Make sure everyone stays together! New people can get lost, or at least bewildered. Don’t let the crowd string out to where the head or leaders cannot be seen, less than ¼ mile. Gaps aren’t good either!
2) Try to plan bathroom breaks into the walks, especially the Sunday ones, whenever possible. Wait for all to return from the bathroom.
3) When stopped for stoplights, wait for everyone to get across, even if it means spreading out a little so that everyone is safe.

WALKING TIP
Interval walking - If you want a stronger stride, break up your walk into slow and fast segments. Vary the pace of your walk so that you have a phase where you stroll slowly bringing your heart rate down. Repeat each group of segments as you see fit and don’t forget to warm up for at least 10 minutes before each session.
