HIKE TIMES

Sunday hikes cover about 5 miles and start at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday hikes cover about 3 miles and start at 7:30 p.m. The St. Paul Hiking Club does not assume liability for accidents or injury.

BOARD MEETING

The Next Board Meeting is: November 3, 2008, 7:30 p.m. at: Sally Nelson's, 1625 Pinehurst, St. Paul (651-699-9697). All members are welcome to attend.

FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Chuck Ramsey has served many terms as the club President, (1989-1993, 1994-98, and 2003-present. Due to the age and state of health of his parents, he has decided to stay in Texas with them, and is resigning as President. Marion Hastings is serving as interim President.

IN MEMORIAM

Our condolences go to Betty Juaire on the passing of her sister, Loretta. A former president of the club Florence Keeney, who served from 1979-1982 also passed away. Our condolences also go to her family for their loss.

BELL RINGING FOR SALVATION ARMY

We will be ringing the bells on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008. We’ll be manning both entrances at the Cub Foods at Midway Shopping Center, 1440 University Ave. W., St. Paul. We will be doing two hour shifts starting at 10:00.a.m.until 7:00p.m. Lots of bodies are needed! Call Marion Hastings for sign-up info, 651-604-0459. Dress warm!. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

Tuesday, December 2nd, at Joseph’s Grill, 140 S. Wabasha Street. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner buffet at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $15.00 per person. Send checks & reservations to: Marty Nelson, 12678 Homestead Dr. N, White Bear Lake, MN 55110. The menu will be: the House Salad, Sliced Roast Beef, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Campers Walleye, Calico Rice. We need 3 volunteers to bring dessert. Gifts – If you want to participate, bring a wrapped $5.00 gift marked for man, woman or either.
