HIKE TIMES
Sunday hikes cover about
5 miles and start at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday hikes cover about 3 miles
and start at 7:30 p.m. The St. Paul Hiking Club does not assume
liability for accidents or injury.
GROUP IDENTIFICATION
New people
always have trouble identifying us when they try to find us to hike
with us. Charlotte has been working on a design for a 3 inch badge (button),
impermeable to rain, etc. that would cost approx. $2.50 each, with or
without your name on it. Give your input about this to Charlotte and
the other board members.

Add to your

BOARD MEETING
The Next Board Meeting is:

MN 55107, 651-224-8933. All members are welcome to attend.
HIKE NEWS
Many hikers believe that pot
luck picnics should be limited to once a month during the warm months,
other hikers believe that there are too many fast food places, (Burger
King, for example) with unhealthy foods, being used. It all depends
on the location, people! Do some research on your routes! Let’s try
to get a mix. Give feedback on the matter to the board members
or better yet-attend a board meeting and discuss it!
WALKING TIP
For a more
strenuous workout-and greater calorie burn-walk some hills. Even a moderate
grade can significantly boost your energy expenditure. Remember to maintain
an upright posture, work up to steeper inclines, and stretch out thoroughly
to get the best results. (www.prevention.com)
A BIG OOPS! The Tuesday,
September 30th hike, that was
missed in the Trailblazer.
Four sets of eyes didn’t notice the missing date, but a sharp-eyed
Editor, did.
